Your Guide to Sailing & Catamaran Holidays

Everything you need to know before booking your private sailing experience with MySailCruise.

Planning Your Cruise

What is the minimum duration for a sailing or catamaran cruise?
Mediterranean charters generally run from Saturday to Saturday for one week. During the low season, shorter breaks and long weekends may also be available.
How large should the boat be?
The ideal yacht depends on the number of guests. Couples usually require at least two cabins, while larger groups should choose vessels with three to five cabins.
Do I need a boating licence?
No. You can charter with a certified professional skipper or sail yourself if you hold a valid licence accepted in your destination.
How much does a charter cost?
Prices vary depending on destination, season, yacht type, duration and optional services. Contact us for a personalised quotation.
What is included?
The charter normally includes the yacht, skipper, bed linen, towels, water, dinghy and standard onboard equipment.
What is not included?
Food, fuel, marina fees and local taxes are generally managed through a shared onboard fund.

Skipper & Crew

Do I need a skipper?
If you want a relaxing holiday without responsibilities, a certified skipper is the best choice and guarantees safety throughout the cruise.
What are the skipper's duties?
The skipper is responsible for navigation, safety and route planning while helping guests enjoy the best possible sailing experience.
Can I steer the boat?
Yes. Guests are welcome to participate in sailing manoeuvres under the skipper's supervision.
Can I bring pets?
Pets may be accepted on private charters, subject to prior approval by the charter company.

What should I pack?
Bring soft luggage, swimwear, light clothing, sunglasses, sunscreen and non-marking shoes. Travelling light makes life on board much easier.
When are embarkation and disembarkation?
Embarkation usually starts from 5:00 PM, while disembarkation is generally scheduled for Saturday morning after returning to the marina.
